The first folding child car seats in group 2 and 3 (4 to 12 years/15 to 36 kg) – the 505 Folding Booster Seat and the 540 Ultra Folding Booster Seat – were launched in the UK by The First Years in the spring of 2009. Uniquely, when not in use, these seats can be conveniently and easily folded down to a neat, compact size for ease of storage and transportation. They are also the first booster seats to score 5 out of 5 stars in the NHTSA ‘ease of use’ ratings in the US, meet the latest EU standards and pass Australian side-impact tests, the most stringent in the world. The new Pathway – ‘Best Bet’ Rating
The new B570E Pathway Folding Booster Seat has been recognised by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety in the USA with a ‘Best Bet’ rating. This independent rating recognises booster seat models that provide a good lap and shoulder fit in a range of vehicles so the lap belt is flat across a child’s upper thighs and positions the shoulder belt at mid-shoulder. With the Pathway Folding Booster Seat, parents have the option to adjust the shoulder belt path up to 1.5 inches for the most secure and comfortable fit.

The seat features colour-coded adjustable shoulder and optimised lap belt paths for a comfortable and secure fit on all vehicle journeys. It has added EPS foam padding to the six-position, easily-adjustable headrest. So, unlike with most child seats, when the headrest is raised, no gap is created to ensure the neck and shoulder area are always fully protected.

Designed on narrow rails to accommodate fitment in almost all vehicles, the comfortable seat with full back support also has flip-up arm rests to make it easier to place a child and feed the seat belts through. To keep tots occupied and reduce mess in the car, there are pull-out snack and cupholders, which are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. The seat also features an ‘easy off’ comfortable cushion foam, triple-layer liner pad, again, for easy washing and cleaning.

The B570E Pathway Folding Booster Seat conforms to the latest EU standards – ECE R44.03 and 04. As with all The First Years’ seats, the Pathway Folding Booster Seat has been side-impact tested to Australian standards, the most stringent standards in the world for side-impact testing.
