RBI latest new
client to launch Driveaway
19 November 2004
Leasedrive Group,
one of the largest independent privately-owned vehicle management
groups in the UK, has won a three-year contract to provide an
all employee car ownership scheme for the employees of Reed Business
Information. Following
the win, a low-cost car scheme, Driveaway, has just been launched
and is open to all 2,200 employees in the UK.
Commercial director,
Roddy Graham said: “We are delighted to have won this new account. The
Driveaway package created for Reed Business Information employees
has been carefully structured after months of research. Besides
holding a number of employee workshops, we also conducted surveys
among all employees. The
resulting solution truly reflects the requirements of employees. The
scheme should therefore prove to be a real added-value employee
benefit.
“Through Driveaway,
Reed Business Information employees have access to specially-negotiated
great fleet deals from Audi, General Motors and Renault. They
can choose from any model within each manufacturer’s range. No
deposit is required and the scheme is supported by a competitive
APR. Importantly,
as employees will be entering into a credit sale agreement, they
will not be liable for Benefit In Kind tax.”
Lynda Redwood, head
of HR services at Reed Business Information said: “What really
impressed us about Leasedrive was their personal commitment to
delivering the best for our employees and their state-of-the-art
business solutions. They
have designed a bespoke website for the scheme and have supported
us each step of the way.”
The
new scheme is being jointly promoted via a new dedicated Driveaway
website, a special Driveaway handbook, marketing flyers and
manufacturer days. Reed
Business Information employees are able to obtain a quotation,
gain credit approval and order a new car online.
At
the end of the contract, employees will have the choice of
paying the guaranteed future value and retaining ownership
or returning the vehicle and taking out a new scheme or simply
returning the vehicle.
Reed Business Information
employed specialist fleet management consultancy, Fleet Logistics
to assist with the rigorous tender process for the new contract. Leasedrive
Group was one of seven fleet management and leasing companies
invited to tender.
Reed
Business Information is part of the business-to-business division
of the Reed Elsevier Group PLC, the world leading publisher
and information provider. Reed
Business provides a range of communication and information
channels – magazines, exhibitions, directories, online media
and marketing services – across five continents. In
